Immortality and Longevity

It is really difficult to grasp the concept of immortal and eternal life, other than to believe that it exists in a place called heaven.

We live daily amidst so much disease and death. We watch people die, never to see them return.

Our comfort therefore, lies in the invisible realm of heaven, where immortality and eternal life does exist, where we go to one day,if we are fortunate, when we leave this physical existence. This realm. This is how most of us see things. For, even amongst the most sterile and healthy conditions, people die well before they are even 100, and some die very young indeed.

One would think that with all the technology and the research we have today, answers would exist on how to sustain life.

We can however, believe that 'longevity' does exist in our world today for some people. This is not beyond our current thinking. Outside the west, it is reported and recorded that Li Chuen Yuen was born in May 1677 and died in 1933, aged 256, and elsewhere around the world people are living to the 120 - 130 mark. Evidence of this physically exists in documents.

But, to go further; in the bible, it is recorded Methuselah was 969 years old, and Enoch 365 years old, when he 'disappeared'. A question that comes to me is was this down to healthy eating, smoke free zones, a santized environment, or something other than environmental factors and chance? Do we believe people lived to be those ages? I think they did. So whats changed today, to make human beings just have three scores years and ten afforded to them?

Was the lesson of the rise of Lazarus, from a tomb where he had lay, decomposing for some time, whilst his spirit was in heaven, a sign of Gods power, or/and a sign of immortality, that like Christ, some people can overcome death, and live right now? I dont know.

It is such an interesting thought though to take into account, whilst living our life today.

I think Charlie Veitch in the video below said an interesting thing. Live each day like its your first, and not your last. I like that. It removes attachment to the past. A subtle shift in consciousness also evolves around this concept. That life does not end.

To me, this also means be born new, and let the past go. Start each day afresh.

I definately know our lives, and the quality of our lives are determined by how much anger and resentment we have let go. How clear, how clean, is our 'connection' to the Creator today. And how much do we love Truth. Immortality and Eternal Life, is therefore a spiritual answer

Interesting thoughts, the answers to which I dont fully know. There are things that I thought were true once, which have turned out to be lies, and lies have turned out to be true. There are also many things too big and wonderful for me to fully grasp, for my mind has been programmed to see things a certain way. But I am greatly encouraged by the words in Revelation, which do indeed indicate the death itself will one day not occur.

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Revelation 21:3-5 (in Context) Revelation 21 (Whole Chapter)
