Never give up - No Arms, No Legs No Worries - Nick Vujicic

Nick Vujicic- A LIFE without limbs.

I first heard of Nick Vujicic a few years ago, quite by accident, from a friend, and really liked his attitude and ability to encourage others overcome their disabilities and anger. He is an australian man, and the story of him growing up is very interesting. His despair of his limitations, and the prison of the body he found himself in, made him want to take his own life.

Once I got over crying when I first saw him, and feeling ashamed at my own petty grumblings, I realized he wasnt looking for sympathy, or comparison, or saying his problem is worse than yours. He was saying everyone has a purpose and can overcome anything. He is a great example of how the human spirit can triumph over things, if they let go of resentment, and can find peace. He promotes Thankfullness.

Born with no arms and legs, Nick now gets on with life, and travels the world, often putting himself in extremely vulnerable situations. He's an evangelist speaker, but not 'too' over the top. He has great conviction, believable because of his story. He tells the girls and boys on the video that God loves them as they are, which I think is wrong, but I do see what he means on a 'physical' level.

After a while, you dont see a person with no arms and legs, you see a man. He speaks heart to heart, and bypasses the limitations of human frailty, right to the point on what matters in life, in his own unique way. You become more interested in what he has to say rather than he has no arms or legs.

I believe God could give him arms and legs if he wanted to, but yet, he has maybe been 'healed' in another way.

He has no problem standing up.

You realize most able bodied people dont have as much life in them, and are not as 'free' as Nick Vujicic. This is maybe what some of our tears are about, and the shame we dont carry our own burdens with this much grace.!!

Learn To Be Still

The video below was recently posted on the Be Still and Know Forum Board. I thought it was lovely.

The Death of Ciommon Sense

An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly, rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,
Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.

No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents,

Truth and Trust, by his wife,

Discretion, by his daughter,

Responsibility, and by his son,

Reason. ?

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

The Weak acting Strong

FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Its terribly disappointing that the president of America has given his support to the proposed building of a mosque at ground zero. Not only did his actions and words show lack of understanding, but they displayed weakness. Just where have all the strong men gone.

Authority tends to loose its power, when you see where its coming from, and rather than look like strong leadership, it instead looks like a petulant child demanding and stating its own way. I would hope even the most liberal would see how wrong he is on this.

I do hope the world gets behind the families of 9/11 to support them. The mosque could be built at an entirely different location. It would be a peaceful and loving thing to do, and would gain a little more respect, rather than the anger that it will incite.

But wait a minute. Isn't this what this whole issue is about?

Injustice and Betrayal, and yes Phobia, are most certainly the handtools of a manipulator.

God Bless the families of 9/11 at this time.

Calm As A Cucumber

I love the way this labourer calmly moves his foot when he drops one of the bricks, in the vdeo below. He has a great sense of balance. No Health & Safety Rules here.
